As an undergraduate at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC, Matthew Watson, CEO, STN Video studied Economics. Many of the principles as well as ethics that he learned at the time have carried through to his current business. These include staying true to what you say, never judging a person at first sight, and focusing on the task at hand. After graduating from undergrad, he continued his academia further. Matthew Watson then obtained a law degree from the University of British Columbia Law School. CEO and Chair | STN Video | June 2015 – Present

Matthew Watson first joined the STN Video team in 2009. Moreover, he assisted the original founder of the company as well as other founding members. By building a robust video distribution platform and strategic plan to grow the company, he soon became the leader of the company in 2015. In fact, STN Video is North America’s biggest and most well-known video platform. Also, the company brings official league highlights and sports news to well over 1500 online publishers. It enables the company’s sales partners to offer a premium brand safe ad environment to the world’s top brands and agencies. Essentially, STN Video exists to aid traditional and born online publishers succeed in this ever-evolving digital world.

Board Member, Chair of Audit and Finance | Island Health | January 2012 – September 2017

Joining Island Health as a board member, Matthew Watson was appointed chair of the audit and finance committee. During his years with Island Health, he was committed to overseeing a budge of over $2 billion. Additionally, the company has nearly 20,000 employees that are focused on improving health. More specifically, they provide care to roughly one million people on Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands, and the mainland communities of Powell River.

By assisting UGE in their IPO, Matthew Watson served as both a leader as well as director. As a matter of fact, he helped the company grow from a startup to successful public company. Urban Green Energy is a leader in distributed renewable energy generation. Its influence is global in scope and it works in conjunction with commercial and industrial applications. At UGE, their mission is to save planet Earth. World energy consumption is ever on the rise and the company’s challenge is to provide the world with renewable energy.

Owner & Chief Executive | Armorlogic | October 2008 – January 2014

At Armorlogic (Alert logic), customers are their obsession. Making the best and most secure services available to everyone is their passion. Matthew Watson joined the team when the founders of Armorlogic were just getting the company going. Furthermore, he assisted in leading all aspects of the business. In 2012, Armorlogic was acquired by Alert Logic.
